Ingredients of Dates burfi
- You need to prepare 250 gms of dates (seedless).
- Prepare 2 tbsp of chopped cashews.
- Prepare 2 tbsp of chopped pistachio.
- You need to prepare 2 tbsp of chopped almonds.
- Prepare 2 tbsp of poppyseeds.
- You need to prepare 2 tbsp of ghee.
- You need to prepare 1 tsp of cardamom powder.
It is very healthy as it has no added sugar and is loaded with dry fruits and nuts. Burfi is prepared with oats, nuts and dates. Dates katli is a filling guilt free mid-morning. I prepared this burfi for that.
Dates burfi step by step
- Dry roast the poppyseeds and keep aside..
- In a pan add 1 tbsp ghee. Now fry the chopped dryfruits and keep aside..
- Take seedless dates. Now coarsely ground them and keep aside..
- In a pan add remaining ghee. Add the coarsely ground dates. Cook on low to medium flame until dates become tender. Now add ghee roasted chopped dryfruits and bind them well. Now add cardamom powder and 1 tsp roasted poppy seeds. Mix well. Transfer to a plate and let it cool down a bit..
- Once it's warm, using hands make a log. Now roll the log over roasted poppy seeds and chopped pistachios. Now wrap the log using aluminum foil, secure the sides of it, roll on the flat surface slightly to give a good round shape. Now keep in freezer for 15-30 minutes to set..
- After 30 minutes, take out from freezer, cut into 1/2 cm thick sliced..
- Remove the aluminium foil and serve..
